Emergency Fixes

Clear Nail Polish

  1. Apply at both ends of run
  2. Dab (don't paint) the polish
  3. Let dry completely
  4. Creates barrier stopping spread

Hairspray

  • Spray directly on run
  • Stiffens fibers temporarily
  • Works in a pinch

Bar Soap

  • Rub across run edges
  • Old-fashioned but effective
  • Helps when nothing else available

At-Home Repairs

For Small Runs

  1. Use fabric glue or clear polish
  2. Apply small amount at run ends
  3. Press fibers together gently
  4. Lay flat to dry

For Snags (Not Runs)

  1. Don't pull the thread
  2. Use a needle to push snag inside
  3. Work from inside out
  4. Apply clear polish to secure

Prevention

  • Put on carefully (gather first)
